Dreamcatcher

The tittle sequence from the thriller 'Dreamcatcher' follows a narrative openings because the tittles are following the images shown during the sequence. These images are building up the plot. The way the colour of the image is shown, very cold and negative, clearly estates that the it is a thriller. Also, in the images we can see various close ups of plants and ice melting which give the audience a teaser of what's about to come. At times, it looks like the camera zooms in and zooms out from the objects. At the beginning, the camera goes around in circles which would draw the audience's attention immediately. On the other hand, the sound helps to create tension along with the images being shown. the music sounds mysterious and also intriguing; like something bad is about to happen. Furthermore, the titles fade in and fade out. This technique is very common in many different title sequences. In my opinion, this tittle sequence is very well edited because all the technical areas seem to fit together in order to get the message across to the audience, which is the main point. Captain America

The sound for Captain America's tittle sequence is very original and not very common because its not a sound that we would expect from a thriller. We would expect sounds which make the film looks thrilling and intriguing, however, the sound in this tittle sequence makes the audience feel proud and determined to do something. Also, the sound really fits in with the images being shown during the sequence because of the brightness and the colour used. The image is also very original because they are cartoons. These cartoons are showing some American history, as well as American life and values. The film was shown in 3D in cinemas thats why when the camera focuses on certain angles it looks like it's going to come out of the screen. I think its very interesting the way the sound and the image followed each other throughout the entire tittle sequence. Focusing on the editing, we can clearly see that the speed of the tittle sequence has been edited because at some points the speed is fast but then when some tittles are being shown, the speed goes slow. Is like the camera is jumping from one point to another. A narrative opening is being used in oder to introduce the plot.
