Evaluation of Prelim
By looking at the final outcome for the Prelim, I was able to analyse and point out all the positive and negative things that I found while watching the Prelim. Positively, I though that out of all the practice films that we have done, this is the best because of the way it was edited. The sound was on time with the image and it contributed to the plot of the movie. Also, the actors did their job really good as they got into the character. Furthermore, the various camera angles used form the beginning to the moment when they were having a conversation shows that we have practised what we learnt when recording and using the camera. On the other hand, I think that during the editing process, we realised that we didn't have enough scened recorded when it was too late to record again, so we had to work with what we had and make the best out of it; this is why the Prelim outcome is slightly short. Also, maybe the font used for the main title and the title sequences could've been looked into deeper. From the making of the Prelim, I have learned to direct better along with my colleagues because now we have a better knowledge of how to record from better angles to the outcome looks much better and professional. Also, I have learned to supervise what everyone's role is while we are recording. During the editing, I have also learned to create the title sequence looks better so it fits with the opening. Next time I will perhaps spend more time editing so that evey thing is on time and also I will be spending more time directing so that I can understand better the rules of recording.
