Practice: Prelim Evaluation

Practice: Prelim Evaluation

Our Prelim turned out very successful. We were able to film the shots we wanted and when it came to editing we were able to put together shots very easily. Although I was not in on the day the prelim idea was created, I was able to film and help edit the scenes. It was very useful practice as what we did in the Prelim has provided us with skills and basic knowledge which we will need when constructing our thriller opening. Editing skills and becoming familiar with Final Cut Pro + Soundtrack Pro was a very useful skill I picked up. Also as I had filmed all the shots, I was able to understand how shots look better on camera and on screen. I was also able to experiment different shot types, giving me a greater knowledge on which shots work and where, when it comes to filming our thriller opening. Before our Prelim I was also rather sketchy on how to use Final Cut pro and Soundtrack Pro. The Prelim exercise gave me an opportunity to learn new skills which can be used in our Thriller opening. Overall I think this was a very beneficial experience which will come to good use over the next few weeks.
