Holiday Homework - Research 1

Analysing 2 Film Openings

Buried (2010)

I really liked the title sequence of 'Buried'. It is animated, the background of the title sequence is dark brown, looks like the camera would be under ground and is moving down, lines are also going down with the camera, changing direction and making the titles. Non-digetic music is also playing during the title sequence, building up the tension and grabbing the viewers attention.

Machete (2010)

Another great title sequence, in 'Machete'. They show slightly moving images, with titles on top. At start we see images of mise en scene things like knives  blades and weapons, but then it changes, it starts showing us the characters of the film and introduces us to their personality because of the image, example would be, Michelle Rodriguez with an eye patch and a heavy weapon in her hand.
