RESEARCH - THRILLER OPENINGS
In order to start the project, we started to research and analyse various Thriller Openings in order to get an overall idea of the kind of clip we have to create for the project. there were a large variety of Thriller openings, all having different themes. We looked at the way the thriller openings were structured in order to introduce the movie. Also, I was focused on the title sequence, the lighting, the music, and the speed of the clip as well as the editing.
For example, I looked at 'The Stepfather' which really got my attention because it was a really unexpected thriller, as the man didn't look suspicious at all. I liked the way that when the opening starts, we get the idea that is a normal day in a man's life, however as the clip continues in the kitchen scene and we see the dead child. This creates the tension for the entire clip. In the video, we can see how the man wakes up and does his daily morning routine but then unexpectedly everything changes when the other people appear to be dead. On the other hand, the music, which builds up tension to the scene, really help us to understand the story of the film, as well as intriguing us into what is going to happen then.
During the opening of the Thriller openings, we can see the film company's name and logo.
